This hands-on session offers a practical introduction to advanced congestion phenotyping tailored for nephrologists, with a focus on the complex interplay between heart and kidney function. Participants will explore how point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) can transform bedside decision-making in cardiorenal patients.

The demonstration will highlight lung ultrasound for detecting B-lines, a sensitive marker of interstitial congestion, inferior vena cava and the assessment of portal vein pulsatility, an emerging and non-invasive indicator of systemic venous congestion and right-sided pressure overload.

Attendees will experience image acquisition and interpretation with portable US machines and learn how to integrate these findings into clinical reasoning.
